Journal of Information Technology and Vocational Education (JITVE)

1. Scope of the Journal

JITVE publishes original research articles, review papers, and short communications in the fields of:

  • Information Technology (software engineering, artificial intelligence, information systems, computer networks, cybersecurity, etc.)

  • Vocational and Technical Education (curriculum, pedagogy, digital learning, assessment, policy, employability, etc.)

  • Integration of Information Technology in Vocational Education and Training (VET).

Only manuscripts relevant to the above scope will be considered.


2. Types of Manuscripts

  • Research Articles (4,000–7,000 words): Empirical or theoretical studies with clear methodology and results.

  • Review Papers (5,000–8,000 words): Systematic or critical reviews on emerging topics.

  • Short Communications (2,000–3,500 words): Concise reports on ongoing or preliminary research.


3. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted online through the OJS system: Make a Submission.

  • The submission must not have been previously published or under consideration elsewhere.

  • Authors are required to register and log in before making a submission.


4. Manuscript Preparation

  • Language: English (preferred) or Bahasa Indonesia with good academic writing.

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx).

  • Font & Layout:

    • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

    • Spacing: 1.5

    • Margin: 2.5 cm on all sides

    • Paper size: A4

  • Sections for Research Articles:

    1. Title

    2. Abstract (150–250 words, in English and Bahasa Indonesia)

    3. Keywords (3–5 words)

    4. Introduction

    5. Literature Review (if applicable)

    6. Methodology

    7. Results and Discussion

    8. Conclusion

    9. Acknowledgment (if any)

    10. References


5. Citation and References

  • References must follow APA Style (7th edition).

  • At least 80% of references should be from journals or proceedings published in the last 10 years.

  • Example:

    • Journal: Smith, J. (2022). Digital learning in vocational education. Journal of Vocational Studies, 15(2), 100–115.

    • Book: Brown, P. (2020). Information Technology in Education. New York: Routledge.


6. Plagiarism Policy

  • Manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin).

  • Submissions with a similarity index >20% will be rejected immediately.


7. Peer Review Process

  • All submissions undergo double-blind peer review.

  • Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two reviewers.

  • The editorial decision (accept, minor revision, major revision, reject) will be communicated to authors within 6–8 weeks.


8. Ethical Considerations

  • Authors must ensure originality and proper citation.

  • Data fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism are strictly prohibited.

  • For studies involving human participants, ethical approval must be obtained.


9. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • No submission fee is required.

  • APC details (if applicable in the future) will be announced on the journal website.
