Publication Ethics
The Journal of Information Technology and Vocational Education (JITVE) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and strictly adheres to the principles set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). It is essential to ensure that all parties involved in the act of publishing (the author, the journal editors, the peer reviewers, and the publisher) agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior.
Duties of Editors
- Ensure fair and unbiased peer-review of all submitted manuscripts.
- Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts before publication.
- Make decisions based solely on academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when conflicts exist.
Duties of Reviewers
- Assist the editorial team in making editorial decisions through objective and timely reviews.
- Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript and refrain from using unpublished information for personal gain.
- Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest and decline reviewing if necessary.
Duties of Authors
- Present accurate and original research results, ensuring no fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements.
- Provide sufficient detail and references to permit replication of the research.
- Avoid plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism.
- Acknowledge all sources of data, financial support, and significant contributions.
- Ensure that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission.
Duties of Publisher
- Ensure that good practice is maintained to the highest standards in accordance with COPE guidelines.
- Provide support to editors, reviewers, and authors to carry out their ethical duties.
- Take reasonable steps to identify and prevent publication misconduct.
Any cases of suspected unethical behavior will be investigated and resolved following the best practice guidelines from the COPE.
